BUenas..

tengo una laptop con una tarjeta radeon HD 8330 que vino con Win 8. realice la instalacion (grafica) de ubuntu 12.04 sin problemas pero cuando reinicio el equipo este entra directamente en modo texto y al correr startx se cae y muestra error.

Tambien note que al intentar usar la opcion de "Probar Ubuntu" entra directamente en modo texto.

¿Y que error da? ¿tu equipo cuenta con UEFI?

si el equipo cuenta con UEFI, y para entrar a linux tengo que primero entrar al bios y bootear directamente hacia linux pero eso lo puedo resolver con boot/repair, lo que me tiene loco es ese problema de que entra solo en modo texto..

este es el mensaje de error que se guarda en el /var/log/Xorg.0.log luego de que corro el startx

Reinstala xserver-xorg, y elimina ~/.config/monitors.xml

ya reinstale xserver-xorg pero nada. al intentar borrar monitors.xml me dice que no existe..

corri X -configure y luego copie el xorg.conf.new a X11/xorg.conf y logre tener GUI pero no tengo mouse..

ya al menos tengo interfaz
