no inicia la parte grafica...

Hola tengo recientemente instalado debian, pero no logro iniciar las x, me parece que es un problema de refresco del monitor, lo que me dice es que no encuentra un configuracion soportada para mi monitor, tengo un KTC K-7002D compatible VESA DPMS, lo cierto es que nose de donde ajustar esos cambios para poder configurarlo...
Otra cosa, cuando uso el apt-get instal xxxxx, o apt-get update no busca en internet, sino que me pide el cd ¿¿¿?????

Edita la tasa de refrezco horizontal y vertical en el archivo /etc/X11/XF86Config en la sección "Monitor". Busca los valores correctos en el manual de tu monitor.

En www.escomposlinux.org/Faq se describe cómo editar ese archivo.

Si ya lo hice, incluso inicie knoppix y copie el xf86config
pero tampoco, y ademas esta usando el XF86Config-4 en ves de XF86Config, gracias por la indicacion...
Lo que me deja hacer es cuando ejecuto gdm, testea unas cuantas configuraciones, pero me dice que ninguna concuerda con mi monitor, pero inicia en 640x480 256 colores para intentar diagnosticar el problema...
