Sonrisa CoLinux + Fedora 7

To login, you have several choices. The option I recommend for getting started
is to connect vnc to 127.0.0.1:1. Just login as root there is no default
password set. After you have things setup the way you like, you can switch
to using X11 for better performance, or continue to use VNC if that is what
you prefer.

De manera que tecleo:
Xvnc 127.0.0.1:1
pero me dice que es opcion no reconocida, claro, no se usar vnc, asi que necesito una ayudadita, esto es solo por probar una de tantas distros de el increible Linux y las maravillosas cosas que puede lograr

aqui el txt completo:

Welcome.

The following files are available in this archive:

README-Fedora-7.txt
This file.

Fedora-7.img
This is a 4GB Fedora-7 disk image preconfigured for
slirp for networking, Xvnc with a gdm login, and ESD
for sound support.

start-Fedora-7.bat
This is a sample bat file for launching coLinux using the
Fedora-7.img. You will only hear sound, if you already have
an ESD daemon listening to port 7000.

start-Fedora-7.sh
This is a bash script for launching coLinux using Fedora-7.img.
If you have cygwin, sound should start as well.

swap.img
This is a 512 MB swap file, to give your virtual machine extra memory.

GETTING STARTED:

I recommend extracting all the files directly to your coLinux install
directory. Typically this is either c:\coLinux or c:\Program Files\coLinux.
You should then be able to start the virtual machine with one of the sample
scripts.

To login, you have several choices. The option I recommend for getting started
is to connect vnc to 127.0.0.1:1. Just login as root there is no default
password set. After you have things setup the way you like, you can switch
to using X11 for better performance, or continue to use VNC if that is what
you prefer.

One of the first things you will want to do when logging in for the first time
is to "Add/Remove Programs". To do this, type "pirut" within an xterm window,
and select which packages you want with your Fedora-7 installation and install
them. Don't forget you can select individual packages with the
"Optional Packages" button.

If you wish to remove packages, I recommend using "rpm" or "yum" because it
is very easy to accidentally remove a core package and have a non-bootable system
afterwards.

You should also add some user accounts, as it is probably a bad idea to keep
logging in as root.

The following files have been modified from the FedoraCore6 originals:

/etc/gdm/custom.conf
This is where I specify to start Xvnc instead of Xorg. If you want to
change the VNC screen resolution, edit this file.

/usr/share/gdm/defaults.conf
This is also where I specify to start Xvnc instead of Xorg. See bug
#243551 at bugzilla.redhat.org. If you want to change the VNC screen
resolution, edit this file.

/etc/profile.d/espeaker.sh
This is a shell script I added to initialize ESD. If you wish to change
the port or IP address were sound is sent, edit this file. Note: If you
experience problems with sound freezing your system, try downloading and
installing the rpm's referenced it comment #23 of bug 238680 at
bugzilla.redhat.com.

/etc/fstab
Minor changes to match the labels I used for the swap and root partition.

/etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit
Modified not to start udev with older kernels. Be particularly careful
when updating packages. If the this file is changed, you will need to
re-edit this script to work with older coLinux kernels. In particular
the line that says:
/sbin/start_udev
needs to be changed to
[ -f /sys/class/tty/console/uevent ] && /sbin/start_udev

/dev
I manually populated all the devices into this directory for use with
older kernels. You can only see these devices when udev is not running.

The rest of the customization was done with the system configuration settings
using the system tools.

Do NOT run "startx", it won't work under coLinux. If vnc stops working after
an upgrade, you can try restoring the changed files above by running:

(cd /;tar xfj /root/changes.tar.bz2)

Please let me know of any fixes or improvements you would like to share.

Thanks,
