Fedora utiliza yum para obtener e instalar paquetes, en Fedora 4 viene ya configurado para usar los repositorios del cdrom y los oficiales y extras de Fedora. Mira aqui para conocer como se utiliza yum y se administran rpms y mira aqui para saber como se añaden repositorios adicionales de terceros para software no incluido en el proyecto Fedora. Hoy en día la mayoría de los repositorios son compatibles con apt y yum.
