Error del upDate panel

Hola a todos... miren estoy trabajando en .Net C# y AJAX coloqué un Update Panel
para evitar el postback de los runatserver, pero necesito disparar un alert, pero al no hacer postback, el alert no se muestra, hice una clase y lo cree como dll para utilizarlo como objeto. sin el update panel funciona muy bien pero al ponerlo me manda el siguiente error:

Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorExceptio n: The message received from the server could not be parsed.
Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response. Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled.


Alguien sabe como resolverlo.

si estas usando el ajaxtoolkit porq no usar un

popupextender

mira entra aqui y bajas las dl's del toolkit

lo agregas a tu toolbox y listo solo lo agregas a tu pagina

ahi mismo hay manuales de como usarlos
