Imagen en word desde php

Hola que tal, estoy haciendo reportes en word desde php, en este reporte incluyo una imagen, el problema está en que si descargo el documento en word generado al disco duro y al abrirlo no aparece la imagen, pero si en vez de descargarlo lo visualizo en el navegador la imagen ahi aparece, ¿como puedo hacer para que tambien aparezca en el archivo que descargo al disco duro?

Espero me puedan ayudar...

una pregunta....

un documento .doc es también HTML ???

que yo sepa no... por eso solo lo ves bien en el navegador... bueno, Word si lo abre.... pero es porque lo reconoce como HTML!!!!

o estoy diciendo locuras??

de donde sacaste la idea de que un archivo DOC es HTML ?

Primero que todo.
.Doc es una extension para Windows (Microsoft Office Word)
Php tiene funciones que permiten el manejo simple de estas. como Crear documentos .doc Leerlos y Eliminarlos. o sobre escribirlos.

Lo q si no estoy sumamente seguro es de si PHP directamente pueda habrir y mostrar un .doc como dice el amigo Arriba... lo pasa a HTML por que hasta donde se ningun Navegador lee documentos .Doc leen HTML y y nisikiera lo leen lo interpretan.. saludos.. ahora si me dices que un Java Applet o algo en Flash (Fume en programacion) te lo pudiera creer aunque dudaria de su existencia.. para Java si :D
