problema tarjeta red en ubuntu

buenos días a todos,
me he comprado una tarjeta de red de tp-link modelo tf-3239dl. con la caja me viene un cd, que contiene una carpeta con el driver para linux. el problema es que lo que viene es un archivo .c no se lo que hacer con el(también vienen uno llamado "makefile" y un "readme", pero no entiendo lo que explican)

si alguien me pudiera echar una mano se lo agradecería mucho

Si la distribución linux del equipo donde pones la tarjeta no te la reconoce puedes instalar los drivers. En el README están las instrucciones, DEBERÍAS seguir sus indicaciones, si en inglés no las entiendes puedes usar un traductor online.
Si no viene un paquete rpm, deb o similar generalmente consiste en usar los siguientes comandos en el terminal (ubicándote mediante el comando "cd" en la carpeta donde están los drivers que quieres instalar):
./configure
make
make install

he probado lo que me has dicho, pero :
1º: al hacer ./configure dife "no existe el fichero o directorio"
2º: al hacer make me saltan un monton de errores

soy un poco torpon para esto

3.RTL8139C+ PCI ethernet chips is set to support C+ mode by default.

  If FORCE_C_Mode below is enabled, the RTL8139C+ chip will be forced to support C mode 

  after reboot.





4.This program can be compiled using the attached Makefile.

  Please remember to SPECIFY "NEW_INCLUDE_PATH" in Makefile according to your linux environment.

  The object file named 8139too.o should be moved to the directory 

  /lib/modules/<linux-version>/kernel/drivers/net/

  The driver could be brought up by the following steps:

	'insmod 8139too'

	'ifconfig eth0 up'



5.It can support Auto-Negotiation ability,that is

	10-half	 0x01

	10-full	 0x02

	100-half 0x04

	100-full 0x08

  If 10-half mode is expected, it can be achieved by the following steps:

	#ifconfig eth0 down

	#rmmod 8139too

	#insmod 8139too media=0x01



6.If the "Install Type", selected during the Linux install procedure, is "laptop",

  this driver can work normally for CardBus application without any modification.

  Otherwise, reinstall Linux and select "Install Type" as "laptop". 

  Then this driver can also work.

Según la lista de compatibilidad de hardware de Ubuntu tu tarjeta está soportada desde la versión 8.04:

No es necesario instalar o compilar los drivers.

muchas gracias, pero eso que dice ahi es para una tarjeta Realtek RTL-8187B, mientras que la mia es una TP-LINK TF-3239DL. de todas formas gracias
