un if y un form

Tengo un formulario con un texarea y un boton.

todo funciona bien, al darle al boton se ejecuta una pequeña subrutina, el problema esta si le doy al enter, que no se ejecuta nada, supongo q es cosa del action ="" tengo q sacar el if fuera del form?
