Can I transfer a domain that is about to expire?
Yes, depending on when the domain's actual expire date is and depending on the current registrars policies. However, because transfers can be tricky, we often recommend that if the domain is due in 30 days or less, process your renewal with the current registrar and THEN transfer your domain. You will not lose any paid registration time in fact, you will gain an additional twelve months which will automatically be added to the end of the new expiration date. And remember, as a Premium Member, you can track your transfer every step of the way. If you are a Premium Plus Member, your dedicated Account Manager will handle all of your transfers so you don't have to spend time working through the black hole of transfer requests.
