"Centos 6" y "yum update"

Buenas tengo un centos 6.3 que al intentar hacer un "yum update" o "yum upgrade" me da el siguiente error y no se como solucionarlo... he probado a hacer un "sudo yum check" pero se queda rato y rato y no hace nada...

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
