problema arranque ubuntu 12.04

Hola!
Soy nuevo con esto de linux y ando un poco perdido, he instalado un ubuntu mi pc y al arrancar me da un fallo al que no encuentro solución, a ver si alguien me puede echar un cable.
La pantalla muestra un mensaje que pone:
Gave up waiting for root device: Common problems:
-Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
-Check rootdelay = (did the systen wait long enough?)
-Check root= (did the system wait for de right device?)
-Missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev)
ALERT! /dev/disk/byuuid/453... does not exist.
busybox (v1.19.3........
Alguien sabe qué tengo que hacer?
