Hola, en el archivo functions.php de Twentyten hay tres funciones que te resolverán la vida, solo tienes que ponerlas en el archivo functions.php de tu theme: twentyten_excerpt_length(), twentyten_continue_reading_link() y twentyten_auto_excerpt_more()...
Claro, las pones con sus correspondientes hooks (add_filters())
