tendras que modificar el httpd.conf de apache para incluir la extension tpl:

busca esta cadena:

Código: 
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
y añadele .tpl

Código: 
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .tpl
guarda y reinicia apache
