en "otro servidor"?? puedes hacerlo en tu propio servidor, por custiones de seguridad no puedes ahcer peticiones con ajax a otros servidores, para hacer eso necesitas hacer otros trucos, haces la peticion a tu servidor, y tu servidor ahace la peticion al otro servidor, el otro servidor le responde a tu servidor y tu servisdor te responde a tu peticion ajax
